Battery tips

Ask the experts: Connecting a battery incorrectly can cause serious damage to your vehicle. It’s always better to ask an expert to fit a new battery, who can advise on the correct size.

How long do batteries last?: On average, car batteries should last between two to three years. Always switch off your lights and radio when not in use, as they can quickly drain your battery.

Choosing a battery: Choosing the wrong battery size may damage your vehicle and cause it to under-perform. Always check the size, as well as the amperage, voltage, the type and location of the terminals, and the number of cells.

Is it flat?: Signs of a flat or dying battery include a weak radio, dimmer-than-usual headlights, and the car failing to start (or turning over more than usual before it starts).
